This web page was produced as an assignment for an undergraduate course at Davidson College.
My name is Rory Traub, and I am a Junior Biology major and Health and Human Values minor at Davidson College. I am on the pre-health track planning on attending PA school as well as hopefully obtaining my MPH at some point.
I will be using this site to post “News and Views” assignments on research articles for my Genomics class.
Course description: In the last twenty years, sequencing costs have decreased rapidly resulting in an abundance of genomic information. This increase in genomic and genome-scale information has opened up previously intractable question in biology. From evolutionary analysis to personalized medicine, genomics is providing insight into basic molecular mechanisms. Throughout this course we will survey genomic and proteomic approaches to investigate basic questions in biology. We will read current and classic articles to learn and investigate how “Big Data” can provide insight into cells, organisms, and ecosystems. (Bio309 Syllabus)
